Affiliate Program Terms

Please read these affiliate terms carefully before participating in the ResumePa affiliate program. By enrolling or participating, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Last Updated: January 2025

1. Introduction

This Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions document (the "Agreement") is a contract between you (the "Affiliate") and ResumePa ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). It outlines the rules and guidelines for participating in the ResumePa affiliate program. By enrolling in or using our affiliate program, you confirm that you have read and understood this Agreement and agree to be legally bound by all its terms. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you should not join or participate in the ResumePa affiliate program. The purpose of this Agreement is to protect both parties by clearly defining the affiliate program's policies, commission structure, and expected conduct.

2. Enrollment in the Affiliate Program

To enroll as a ResumePa affiliate, you must complete our affiliate application form. We will review your application and decide on approval at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to accept or reject any applicant for any reason (for example, if we determine an applicant's site or methods are not aligned with our standards).

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information in your application (including your legal name, contact information, and relevant website or social media URLs). Each affiliate may maintain only one affiliate account; duplicate or fraudulent accounts are not permitted.

After approval, you will receive confirmation of acceptance and gain access to the affiliate dashboard (powered by Rewardful) where you can retrieve your unique referral link and marketing materials.

By joining the Program, you agree that no employment, joint venture or partnership is created – you participate as an independent contractor for ResumePa.

3. Commissions and Payouts

Commission Rate: ResumePa offers a 40% recurring commission on referred customer payments. This means you will earn 40% of the revenue from each subscription payment made by customers you refer, for as long as the customer remains paying ("lifetime commission"). Commissions are earned only on actual paid subscriptions; free trials or non-paying signups do not count. We calculate commissions based on the net payment received from the customer (excluding any taxes or fees).

Payout Schedule and Threshold: Commissions are paid out on a monthly basis. We process payouts for the previous month's approved commissions by the 15th of the following month (e.g., commissions earned in June are paid by July 15). The minimum payout threshold is $50 USD in accumulated commissions. If your commission balance is below $50 in a given cycle, it will roll over to the next month. Once your balance meets or exceeds $50, it becomes eligible for payout in the next scheduled payment cycle.

All payouts are made via the payment method we support (commonly PayPal, unless otherwise noted). It is your responsibility to provide and maintain accurate payout details (such as a correct PayPal email) in your affiliate account to receive payment.

Pending Period: Note that when a commission is first generated, it will remain in a pending status for a holding period of approximately one month before it is approved for payout. This pending period is designed to ensure the referred customer's payment is successful and not refunded (see Section 7 on refunds). In practice, this means commissions from a new sale will only become payable after roughly 30 days have passed without the customer refunding, to account for our refund policy. After this pending period, the commission is marked as "approved" and will be included in the next monthly payout, provided your total approved commissions meet the $50 threshold.

4. Cookie Tracking and Attribution

Our affiliate program uses cookies to track referrals. When a potential customer clicks your unique ResumePa affiliate link, a cookie is placed in their browser to identify you as the referring affiliate. The cookie duration is 90 days, meaning you will receive credit if that customer subscribes within 90 days of the click.

If the customer purchases a ResumePa subscription within this 90-day window, the referral will be attributed to you and you will earn the applicable commission. If the purchase occurs after 90 days (or if the customer clears cookies or uses a different device), the referral may not be tracked or credited.

We generally operate on a last-click attribution model, which is standard in affiliate marketing – only one affiliate can receive credit for a given customer, typically the affiliate whose link was last clicked before the customer's purchase. In other words, if a customer clicks multiple affiliates' links, the most recent referring affiliate will get the commission for the sale.

No commission will be paid if the tracking cookie is not present or cannot be attributed to your affiliate account at the time of purchase. We are not responsible for tracking issues that may prevent us from recognizing a referral (for example, if the customer has ad-blocking that interferes with cookie tracking), but we will make good faith efforts to accurately track all referrals through our Rewardful system.

5. Prohibited Marketing Practices

Affiliates must uphold high standards in their marketing. Any promotional methods that are deceptive, unlawful, or objectionable are strictly prohibited. Engaging in any of the following practices may result in withheld commissions and/or immediate termination from the program. Prohibited marketing practices include but are not limited to:

Spam and Unsolicited Communications: Do not use spam tactics to promote your affiliate link. This means you may not send unsolicited bulk emails, messages, or postings with your ResumePa affiliate link. All email marketing must comply with applicable anti-spam laws (such as the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and EU e-Privacy regulations). We have zero tolerance for spamming – any affiliate found to be spamming will be removed from the program and forfeit any pending commissions.

Inappropriate Content or Illegal Sites: Your affiliate promotions (including your website, blog, social media, ads, etc.) must not be placed on sites or channels that contain offensive or illegal content. This includes, for example, pornography or adult content, violent content, hate speech, defamatory or libelous material, promotion of illegal drugs or activities, or any content that infringes on copyrights/trademarks. We will not associate our brand with websites that promote gambling, illegal activities, discrimination, or any materials that violate the law. You are responsible for ensuring your promotional content is lawful and does not violate any rights.

Misrepresentation and False Claims: Do not make false, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims about ResumePa's service in your promotions. You should always portray the product accurately. Affiliates may not promise outcomes or features that ResumePa does not offer, and you should not mislead users about pricing or functionality. Any kind of deceptive marketing (including creating fake reviews or impersonating customers) is prohibited. Promotions should be honest and transparent about being endorsements. (See also Section 8 on compliance with advertising guidelines.)

Paid Search on Trademarked Terms: Affiliates are not allowed to bid on ResumePa's brand name, trademarks, or any variations or misspellings thereof as keywords in pay-per-click (PPC) search engine advertising (e.g., Google Ads/Bing Ads). This means you may not run ads targeting "ResumePa", "ResumePa app", "ResumePa discount", or similar terms, whether standalone or in combination with other keywords. Such brand bidding without permission is considered trademark infringement and is against our program rules. If you do run any paid search campaigns, you must negative-match our brand keywords and ensure your ads do not appear when users search for our trademark. Limited exceptions may be granted only with our explicit written approval in advance.

Use of Unauthorized Coupon or Discount Sites: ResumePa does not currently offer public coupon codes to affiliates, and we do not permit promotion on coupon aggregation or "deal" websites. Affiliates should not publish any coupon codes, discounts, or special offers for ResumePa unless we have provided them to you explicitly. Posting unapproved or fabricated coupon codes (e.g., "ResumePa50" when no such code exists) is considered misleading and is not allowed. Similarly, listing our program on coupon sites or presenting yourself as offering discounts on our behalf is prohibited. Affiliates who promote invalid coupons or misrepresent discounts will be removed from the program.

Cookie Stuffing and Other Sneaky Tactics: Any technique intended to set cookies without an actual user click or conscious action is forbidden. This includes invisible iframes, automatic pop-ups/pop-unders, scripts, or any mechanism that automatically sets an affiliate cookie without the user actually clicking your affiliate link. You may not mask your link in a way that misleads the user about being tracked. Also, you cannot use deceptive redirects or "cookie stuffing" where a user is bombarded with affiliate cookies. All affiliate referrals must be the result of genuine user interest in ResumePa, not trickery. Additionally, any attempt to hijack traffic from other affiliates (for example, intercepting referral links or overwriting cookies) is strictly prohibited as it undermines the fairness of the program.

Self-Referrals: You cannot refer yourself to ResumePa to earn commissions. This means you may not use your own affiliate link to purchase a ResumePa subscription for yourself, an immediate family member, or your own business (or any entity under your control). The intent of the program is to reward affiliates for bringing in new customers. Any commissions determined to be self-referrals will be disqualified. In general, affiliates are not permitted to game the system by creating fake accounts or "dummy" referrals to generate commission.

Other Prohibited Practices: You must not engage in any conduct that artificially boosts your referrals or circumvents the purpose of the affiliate program. This includes offering any form of unauthorized incentive to induce signups (for example, giving cash-back, rebates, or splitting your commission with the referred customer, which is not permitted unless ResumePa has approved a specific incentive campaign). You also may not use the ResumePa brand in a way that confuses customers – e.g., do not impersonate ResumePa or represent yourself as an official partner beyond being an independent affiliate. Creating websites or social media profiles that appear to be run by ResumePa (as opposed to clearly by you as a third party) is prohibited, as it can mislead users. Always ensure it's clear that you are a third-party promoter. Any activity that we deem fraudulent, abusive, or damaging to our brand or reputation is grounds for immediate termination from the program.

6. Brand Guidelines and Approved Usage

As a ResumePa affiliate, you are welcome to promote our product, but you must do so in a manner consistent with our brand values and guidelines. We have established some brand usage policies to ensure our name and assets are represented correctly. Adhering to these standards protects our brand's integrity and helps maintain a consistent image across all affiliate promotions.

Allowed Use of Brand Assets: Upon acceptance into the program, you may receive access to official ResumePa marketing assets (such as logos, banners, and product images) through the affiliate dashboard or upon request. Affiliates are permitted to use these provided materials as-is in their websites, blogs, emails, and social media to promote ResumePa. You may also use factual statements about our product in your content (for example, describing features and benefits), provided the information is accurate and up-to-date. We encourage you to rely on our website and resources for correct information – if ResumePa updates its pricing or features, you should promptly update your content to reflect those changes. When in doubt, refer to our official site for the latest facts or reach out to us for clarification.

Proper Use of ResumePa Name: You may use the ResumePa name in your promotional content (such as in blog posts or reviews) to refer to our product, but please do so in a way that is not misleading. For instance, it's fine to title an article "My Review of ResumePa" or "How to Use ResumePa for Your Job Search", but it would be inappropriate to name your site or social handle as "Official ResumePa" or imply an official partnership beyond the affiliate relationship. Do not register domain names or social media handles that include our trademark (or misspellings of it) as the main identifier. For example, creating a website called "ResumePaDeals.com" or "ResumePaOfficial.io" is not allowed, as it could confuse users into thinking it's run by us. Using "ResumePa" in a subdirectory or post slug on your own site (e.g., yoursite.com/resumepa-tips) is generally acceptable. When using our brand name in text, distinguish it as a brand (capitalized "R" and "P" in ResumePa, one word).

Prohibited Use of Brand Assets: You may not modify our logos or graphics in any way without permission. This means do not alter the colors, proportions, or wording of our logo. Also, do not combine our logo with your own brand in a way that creates a new logo or suggests an endorsement. Only use official versions of our logos as provided. Additionally, you are not allowed to use our branded content (logos, images, videos, etc.) in a manner that causes consumer confusion. For example, you should not plaster our logo or designs on your webpage in such a way that a visitor might think your site is an official ResumePa site. Always make it clear that your site or content is created by you as an independent affiliate. Our brand assets are protected by intellectual property laws, and we retain all rights to them. Affiliates receive a limited, revocable license to use these assets only as needed to promote ResumePa under these terms. Any goodwill generated by your use of our trademark inures to the benefit of ResumePa. We reserve the right to request that you modify or remove any use of our brand in your materials if we believe it misuses our intellectual property or violates our guidelines.

In summary, represent the ResumePa brand accurately and positively. Do not engage in any activity that dilutes or tarnishes our brand image. If you are ever unsure about whether a certain use of our name or logo is allowed, please contact us for guidance before proceeding. Maintaining a good, consistent brand representation benefits both us and our affiliates by ensuring customers trust the promotions they see.

7. Refund and Chargeback Policy

ResumePa has a standard refund policy for customers (for instance, customers may be entitled to a refund within a certain period after purchase – see our product terms for details). As an affiliate, it's important to understand how refunds or chargebacks affect your commissions.

You will not earn a commission on any referred sale that is refunded, canceled, or charged back. If a customer you referred requests a refund or issues a chargeback, and we honor it, the affiliate commission for that transaction will be nullified or reversed. All commissions initially enter a pending state for ~30 days specifically to accommodate this policy. During this pending period, if the customer's payment is refunded or fails (or if the order is canceled), the commission will be removed and will never reach "approved" status. We do this to ensure that we only pay commissions on successful, non-refunded transactions. After the holding period passes with no refund, the commission is approved for payout as described in Section 3.

In the event that a referral is refunded after your commission has already been paid out (which is uncommon but possible in cases of chargebacks or exceptional refunds beyond the normal period), ResumePa reserves the right to deduct the previously paid commission for that sale from your future earnings. For example, if you were paid for a referral last month and that customer's payment is later disputed and refunded, we may subtract the commission amount from your next payout or invoice you for the amount if necessary. We will always communicate in such cases.

Our goal is to be fair and transparent: you earn commission on genuine sales, but not on transactions that don't end up as revenue for us (refunds/fraud). Additionally, if we detect that a referred transaction is fraudulent (e.g., use of stolen credit cards or other abuse), the commission will be canceled. We are not obligated to pay commissions on sales that are not legitimately earned or that violate any of these Terms. We may also lock or hold commissions longer than the standard period if we suspect the possibility of a chargeback, pending investigation.

8. Affiliate Conduct and Compliance

Affiliates are expected to conduct themselves in a legal, ethical, and professional manner at all times. By participating in our program, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations relevant to your promotional activities. This includes (but is not limited to) laws governing marketing emails, data protection, advertising, and endorsements in your region.

For example, you must adhere to any FTC (Federal Trade Commission) guidelines or similar regulations on disclosing affiliate relationships in online reviews or social media posts. Whenever you promote ResumePa in a context where your audience might not otherwise know you're an affiliate, you should clearly disclose that you may receive compensation (e.g., using phrases like "affiliate link" or "I earn a commission if you purchase") in accordance with legal requirements. Keeping such disclosures "clear and conspicuous" is not just the law in many jurisdictions, but also builds trust with your audience.

You also agree not to engage in any harmful or unethical conduct that could damage ResumePa's reputation or otherwise negatively impact us. This means you should refrain from making disparaging or defamatory statements about ResumePa, our employees, our products, or other affiliates. We welcome constructive feedback, but public attacks or misleading negative commentary with the intent to deter customers is not acceptable, especially while you are promoting our product. Affiliates should also avoid any conflicts of interest or doing anything that would embarrass or liability to the company.

Furthermore, participation in the affiliate program does not make you an employee, agent, or legal representative of ResumePa. You act in your own capacity as an independent contractor. You are not authorized to make any commitments or statements on behalf of ResumePa. You must not imply in any way that you are part of ResumePa's internal team or otherwise officially represent the company. Any business cards, social profiles, or communications by you should identify you as an independent affiliate or promoter, not as a ResumePa employee. You are responsible for your own business expenses and for any taxes or legal filings resulting from your commissions. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed as creating a partnership, franchise, agency, or joint venture between us; you cannot bind ResumePa in contracts or incur obligations on our behalf.

In summary, always operate with integrity and transparency. Follow all advertising rules (no false claims, proper disclosures), obey spam laws (no unsolicited blasting), and respect user privacy and data laws. If you are unsure whether a particular action complies with the rules, please err on the side of caution or consult with us. Compliance is a continuous requirement – violation of laws or these terms can lead to termination (see Section 9). We reserve the right to request evidence of your compliance efforts (for example, proof of proper disclosures in your content) if needed. By being a member of our affiliate program, you agree to uphold these standards and cooperate with any compliance inquiries.

9. Termination and Account Suspension

This Agreement will remain in effect until terminated by either party. Both ResumePa and the affiliate have the right to end the affiliate partnership at any time, with or without cause, by giving notice via email or through the affiliate platform. If you decide to terminate your participation, please notify us in writing (e.g., email our affiliate support) so we can deactivate your affiliate account. Likewise, we may discontinue our affiliate program or your individual affiliate account by providing notice of termination.

Termination by Affiliate: If you choose to leave the program or no longer wish to be an affiliate, you may do so at any time. Upon your termination, any commissions that have been approved and are above the minimum payout threshold will be paid to you in the next cycle, provided the terms have not been violated. If your commission balance is below the $50 threshold at the time of termination, those commissions will be considered forfeited (since we do not issue payouts under the minimum threshold). You will cease using ResumePa's marketing materials and remove your affiliate links upon termination, as you will no longer be authorized to promote the product.

Termination or Suspension by Company: ResumePa reserves the right to suspend your affiliate account or terminate this Agreement immediately and without prior notice if you are in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions or if we detect any fraudulent or harmful behavior. Grounds for immediate termination include (but are not limited to): violation of the prohibited marketing practices in Section 5, fraud or abuse (such as attempting to game commissions, use of fake referrals, etc.), spamming, infringement of our intellectual property or that of others, or any action that we believe in our sole discretion could subject us to legal liability or reputational harm. In such cases, we may deactivate your affiliate links, withhold any pending commissions (especially those tied to the misconduct), and remove you from the program.

ResumePa also reserves the right to terminate the accounts of inactive affiliates. An "inactive" affiliate (for example, no logins or no new referrals for an extended period, such as 6-12 months) may be removed from the program at our discretion to keep our program roster current. We will typically attempt to contact you before terminating for inactivity.

Effect of Termination: Upon any termination of this Agreement, whether by you or by us, you must immediately stop promoting ResumePa and remove all affiliate links from your site or other channels. Any rights and licenses granted to you in this Agreement will end. You will no longer earn commissions on any new customer referrals after the termination date. If a customer you referred earlier comes back and purchases after your termination, you will not receive a commission (because your affiliate cookie/link would no longer be active). We may leave your already referred customers tagged to you in our system for record-keeping, but no new earnings will accrue post-termination.

Any final payout of outstanding approved commissions will be handled as described above: balances above the payout threshold will be paid out following the normal schedule, and smaller balances may be voided. However, if you were terminated due to a violation or fraud, ResumePa reserves the right to cancel any pending commissions, even if above the threshold, as part of the damages for the breach (for instance, commissions generated through fraudulent means will not be paid).

Please note that termination of the affiliate relationship does not absolve you from liability if you violated terms. For example, if we find that you engaged in misconduct, we may still pursue legal remedies even after terminating your account. Conversely, if you terminate amicably, any provisions in this Agreement intended to survive termination (such as confidentiality, liability limitations, or indemnification clauses, if any) will remain in effect.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResumePa makes no warranties or representations of any kind regarding the affiliate program, your ability to earn commissions, or the functionality of the tracking system. The affiliate program (including the Rewardful tracking platform and our website) is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We cannot guarantee that the system will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times, or that every referral tracking will be perfectly captured (though we certainly strive for accuracy). ResumePa disclaims any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement with respect to the program. You participate at your own risk.

In no event shall ResumePa, its owners, officers, employees, or agents be liable to you for any indirect, consequential, punitive, or special damages arising out of or related to this Agreement or the affiliate program. This includes, for example, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity, or any expected affiliate commissions you might have earned had things been different. Our liability for direct damages or for any claim arising in contract, tort, or otherwise shall not exceed the total commissions paid to you by ResumePa in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

By accepting these terms, you acknowledge that the commission payouts provided are the full extent of the compensation you are entitled to, and you agree that this limitation of liability is reasonable given the nature of the affiliate relationship. Furthermore, ResumePa is not responsible for any claims or representations made by you in your capacity as an affiliate. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claims arising from your own website/content, including claims related to false advertising or trademark infringement if you stepped outside the bounds of our terms.

In summary, we will not be liable for damages beyond the commission amounts, and we explicitly exclude liability for any harm that is not a direct result of our actions or that is beyond our control. Some jurisdictions may not allow certain liability exclusions or damages limitations, so note that the above clause is subject to adjustment per applicable law. However, our intent is to eliminate any exorbitant liability. The affiliate program is meant to be mutually beneficial, but we cannot assume risk for how affiliates promote our services beyond what is outlined here.

11. Amendments and Updates

ResumePa reserves the right to modify or update these Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions at any time. We may make changes for various reasons – for example, to comply with new laws, adjust commission structures, or update program policies as our business evolves.

If we make a change that is material and could adversely affect your rights or benefits under the program (for instance, a reduction in commission rate), we will provide you with advance notice of such changes. Notification may be given via email and/or by a prominent notice in your affiliate dashboard. We will strive to give at least 30 days' notice before material changes take effect, so you have time to review and decide if you agree to the new terms. During any notice period, you may contact us with questions or concerns about the proposed changes.

If you do not agree to the changes, you have the right to terminate your affiliate participation before the updated terms apply (and you would stop promoting us and earning new commissions once the terms change). Continuing to participate in the program after the amended Terms become effective will constitute your acceptance of the changes.

For minor or clarifying updates that do not significantly affect your obligations or compensation (for example, editing wording for legal compliance or updating contact information), we may not provide 30 days notice, and such changes may be effective immediately upon posting the revised Agreement on our website or affiliate platform.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top can help you track if any revisions have been made. In summary, we can update the rules as needed, but we will inform you of major changes in advance. It's important that we maintain the flexibility to improve or modify the program, and equally important that you stay informed of any changes. We value our affiliates and will aim to keep the terms fair. Should you ever find an amendment unacceptable, you can opt out of the program (with any pending qualified commissions paid as per Section 9). Otherwise, the updated Terms will apply to you going forward.
